SHORT BREAK SENSORY SPACES

Rhino UK were invited to tender and present a themed multi-sensory and soft play area for Wirral Council Short Break commissioning team.  The design had to be inclusive for all ages and abilities, include a wide range of activities, and have hoist access.  Wirral Council proposed to use space at the Europa Pools leisure centre to create a new unique activity centre for Wirral to be used by children and adults with disabilities to have fun, relax and play.

Rhino UK won the tender for their innovative multi-sensory room design and soft play area as it reached their objectives of increasing access to play experiences for children and adults with disabilities, provided a wide range of play experiences including challenge and stimulation, a space where children and adults could integrate and socialise with their peers, and a space that can be manipulated by the users to encourage them to return!

Under the Sea Multi-Sensory Room

Rhino UK designed and installed the multi-sensory room complete with a carpeted entrances, UV area, OmiReflex Interactive Projection System, Seating Area, Padded Floor Area, Bubble Corner, Sound-sensitive and switch-controlled lighting, relaxing corner with waterbed and DVD projection wall, fibre optics and a swing.

Under the Sea Soft Play Room

The Soft Play Area was designed and installed for a fun packed place to run, hide, jump and swing!  The soft play room included music play panels, climbing wall, light tunnels, trampoline, slides, nest swing, rollers, rope bridge, biff bash bags, uneven floors and much more.

The project was completed in good time and was a project to be proud of both for the Rhino UK Team and the Short Breaks Commissioners!
